1st Ed. 4to. iv + 36pp. 53 etched plates including additional etched title page (shaved 1.5 cm. across tail). Plates heavily browned, lacking front f.e.p., roan backed cloth boards, some staining to boards, gilt lettered spine, heavily rubbed with loss to head and tail. Chosen to demonstrate the picturesque possibilities of a cottage 'warped with age'. Stevens (1781-1823) was a member of the new Water-colour Society, and later an originator of the Sketching Society.
