1st Ed. 4to. [iv] + lvi + 387pp. Some light browning, sm. Institutional bookplate, tape marks to verso of half title, amateur rebind in modern leather, gilt lettered label so spine. Inscribed to verso of half title facing title page ‘To John Lodge Esq. from his affectionate & obliged humble servant the Author.’ Probably John Lodge (1692-1774 English Archivist and historian, best know for his work ‘The Peerage of Ireland.’ With a folded sheet with contemporary notes and inscribed ‘For Rev. Dr. Lodge Armagh’ probably Lodge’s only surviving son, William Lodge, Chancellor of Armagh Cathedral.
