1st Ed. x + viii + 154pp. Port. frontis., plan, plate. Some browning, inscription, from pp.145 onwards and rear board detached, contemporary paper backed boards, stained, some loss to backstrip. Apparently the first book to be printed in Ross on Wye. Thomas Dudley Fosbroke [Fosbrooke], (1770–1842), antiquary. ODNB ‘... in 1810 Fosbrooke accepted the curacy of Walford, near Ross, Herefordshire, with the neighbouring parochial chapelry of Ruardean, Gloucestershire; he moved to Walford in 1811. For eighteen years he had studied for eight hours or more a day ... He also wrote tourist guides, the most popular being [the above] (1818; 6th edn, 1841) ...’
