Inscription, some light browning, upper hinge cracked in part, contemporary double gilt rule edged calf boards, some loss to edges, rebacked in modern calf, gilt lettered title label to spine. Running to six editions in 1739. ESTC T72820 .Dedication signed: T.C., i.e. Thomas Corbett. Pp.210,211,214,215 are misnumbered 310,311,314,315. Thomas Corbett (d. 1751) ’Six years after Torrington's death he published [the above work] including the victory at Cape Passaro which had earned Byng his title. The work, which was partly based on personal papers provided by the second Viscount Torrington, reflects Corbett's closeness to his patron.’
