Landscape ‘leporello’ or concertina fold book each ‘leaf’ measuring 7.79 x 18.2 cm. 32 colour lithographic views, each measuring 7. 5 x 18 cm. (nearly 6 metres in total) occasionally finished by hand. Dutch text. Very light browning in part, leading corner to t.p. creased from folding, folding into contemporary gold-blocked red cloth, only minor wear. Beneath the bridge on the first leaf the name of the artist J. Bos. undoubtedly Jan Bos Wzn. (1832-1897) etcher, engraver and lithographer who worked in Utrecht. The images incorporating different seasons and different times of day. Beginning at the "Witte-vrouwen-barrière" going onto depict Willems-Kazerne, Cellulaire-Gevangenis, Begunen-bolwerk, Willemskazerne, Wolvenplein, Plompetorengracht, Begijnen bolwerk, Barthelomeus Gasthuis, Geertekerk, Diakonessenhuis, Tolsteeg, Sterrenkundig observatorium, Lepelenburg, etc. The panorama was redone in 2017 by Utrecht artists, faithful to the current situation.
