Some light marginal browning and spotting, upper hinge tender but firm, ownership signature, ownership ink stamp to verso of flyleaf, edges of lightly dampspotted, original gilt lettered cloth lightly soiled and rubbed, head and tail of spine sl. chipped. Rosslyn was roving correspondent for the ‘Sphere’ and the ‘Daily Mail’ during the Boer War. Hackett “South African War Books” - p.107 and 181. Hackett described the 3rd edition and shows an illustration of the book. He does not mention that there are no less than 10 references to Winston Churchill in the book including a photograph and mention also of Lady Randolph Churchill.
