Pearson Facsimile Ed. Large 4to. 100 plates printed in b/w. with single black framing line. Some sporadic light spotting, fore and lower edge untrimmed, a few corners sl. curled, upper leading corner of plate 100 browned to verso, upper leading corner of last blank repaired, original limp wrapps. with blake illus. to upper wrapp. and black lettering to spine, wrapps. lightly browned and soiled sl. chipped to edges, leading corners of lower wrapp. somewhat crudely repaired, spine rubbed and sl. worn with some loss at head and tail. Geoffrey Keynes and Edwin Wolf 2nd, in ‘William Blake’s Illuminated Books,’ indicate that copy D was the source for the Pearson facsimile. Copy D is catalogued: 100 plates on 100 leaves, 21 having a watermark “J Whatman 1820.” Printed in black with a single framing line round each plate. Heightened with black or grey water-colour washes, otherwise uncoloured. ‘A wonderful facsimile of copy D, limited to 100 copies ...’ No. 92 of a Limited Edition of 100 Copies.
