ĎA famous Edwardian-era woman big game hunter, Herbert traveled with her cousins to the Caucasus to hunt tŻr and ollen, a local species similar to red deer. While the first half of the book is primarily travelogue in nature, the second half describes various adventurers, including a local nobleman trying to woo Herbertís cousin Cecily even though she was married. To get into Russia the women had to sew ammunition into their undergarments and smuggle it though customs.
