A magnificent work compiled and illustrated by Freshfield and his friends. Baker A turning point in the exploration of the Caucasus came with the journey of Mr Douglas Freshfield in 1868 ... Among the last that of V. Sella is notable, not only for the magnificent photographic work accomplished, but also because he anticipated the Russian surveyors in parts of the Suanetian range.
