E.ps. very lightly browned, contemporary bookplate and sm. ownership signature, some sporadic light spotting, sm. portion torn away from tail of front f.e.p., original gilt lettered blue cloth ruled and lettered in gilt to upper board, some minor soiling, extremities sl. rubbed, spine sl. faded and with sl. wear at head and tail. Joseph Leycester Lyne, known by his religious name as Father Ignatius of Jesus (18371908), Anglican Benedictine monk, who commenced a movement to introduce monasticism into the Church of England.
