A very interesting collection of pamphlets on the Popish Plot (1678-1681), a fictious conspiracy conducted by Tutus Oates (‘Titus the Liar’) in which it was alleged that Jesuits were planning the assassination of King Charles II in order to bring his Roman Catholic brother, the Duke of York (Later King James II) to the throne.
