Some light browning, new e.ps., recased, gilt tooled and lettered cloth, corners and spine frayed, some marking. Scarce. Detailed uniform patterns and plates, depicting all aspects of tailoring. Thomas Hiram Holding (18441930), touring cyclist and promoter of recreational camping. In 1883 Holding moved to London to take a position as a teacher of tailoring, connected with the trade journal the Tailor and Cutter, setting himself up in business. In 1884 he became editor of the London Tailor and Record of Fashion, later purchasing the magazine in 1895 he renamed it the London Tailor. Between 1885 and 1910 he wrote more than thirty books on tailoring subjects.
