Lodge, upper hinge to last vol. sprung with several preliminary leaves detached, some light browning, rebound in gilt lettered cloth, some wear and wrinkling, some joints fraying, spines chipped in part. Some issues have distinctive titles. No more published after 1933/1936. From the library of Eleanor Constance Lodge (1869–1936), historian and college head. Author of amongst other works ‘The English Rule in Gascony (1926)’. Her authoritative works were based on extensive research in French archives. She was proud to be the first woman invited by history board of Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford (LMH) to lecture in the university, on the sources of Gascon history.
