Some light browning, prelims. waterstained sl. intruding onto text occasionally, faint institutional ink stamp to t.p. and occasional margins, sm. presentation bookplates, vol. 1 rebound in gilt lettered leather, vol. 2. in early cats paws sheep, corners reinforced and rebacked in modern gilt lettered calf. Mixed edition, thus books V & VI appear at the end of volume I and the beginning of volume II. With 7pp pamphlet ĎThe Classification and Treatment of Syphilis by Martin G.B. Oxley, loosely inserted. G & M 5195. ĎConsidering the period in which it was written, this is an admirable and comprehensive book on the subject. It includes a careful review of the existing literature.
