1st thus. 4to. Half title + t.p. + pp.([5]-142) + Directions to the Binder. Folding plan, 1 double page plate, 2 plates (1 shaved to tail, the other shaved to tail and fore-edge). Light stain to head and tail of leaves, rebound in modern cloth. ESTC T114648. First seperate edition of these paper, originally included in Philosophical Transactions LXVII pt. II, 1777. ’His experiments, made during the five years from 1771 to 1776 took him as far afield as Schiehallion in Scotland and Snowdon in Wales. He was assisted in the operations by Joseph Banks, Charles Blagden and Dr Lind.’ ‘William Roy 1726-1790 Pioneer of the Ordnance Survey, a copy of which is included with this volume.
